So I’ve been wondering about exactly what type of module for Dragon Age I should tackle first. The answer will depend on just how easy it is to mod the original campaign. If it’s akin to Fallout 3 or Oblivion, where all a player has to do is click on plugin file on a menu before starting the game – where it won’t interfere with Bio’s custom content and patches, then that’s the way I’ll go.
I have my doubts that this is the way it’ll work however, and I foresee it being a bit more like NWN, where stand alone modules were easy to work with both on the developer and player’s side, but where modifications to the OC required a great deal of effort from both parties.
Hopefully, as we get moreĀ informationĀ from both Bioware and the lucky toolset beta testers, I can answer this question and start planning the first module from Intricateworks.
So far 3 German tutorial videos have been released. They are packed full of interesting info on gameplay mechanics. I figured English speakers would love to get a translated version of the videos and so I got to work.
The three translated videos can be found on youtube at my channel: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Kinthalis#grid/uploads

If anymore of these show up, I’ll translate them ASAP.
The spiritual successor to BG and one of the most anticipated Role-Playing Games of the year, Dragon Age: Origins looks amazing and will probably inspire a huge number of user created modules. I plan on participating in that custom content community both by helping to create content and by reviewing anything that ends up on the community site.
